What it requires
Directive 94/62/EC is repealed with effect from 12 August 2026, but not entirely. Art. 8(2) continues until 30 months after the Art. 12(6) implementing act enters into force. Art. 9(1) and (2) continue for the first-indent essential requirements until 31 December 2029. Arts. 5(2) and (3), 6(1)(d) and (e), and 6a continue until 31 December 2028, and Art. 12(3a) to (4) until 31 December 2028, or 31 December 2029 for data transmission to the Commission. Decision 97/129/EC on the material identification system is not repealed until 12 August 2028. Member States may keep national restrictions on Annex V points 2 and 3 formats until 1 January 2030.
