What it requires
Two different dates that are often merged. Art. 6(1), all packaging placed on the market shall be recyclable, has no separate application date and so applies from 12 August 2026; until the Art. 6(4) act applies you comply against the previous Directive requirements and EN 13430:2004, and you do not run the Art. 38 conformity assessment for recyclability yet. Art. 6(2)(a), the design-for-recycling criteria and the A, B, C performance grades, applies from 1 January 2030 or 24 months after the Art. 6(4) delegated act enters into force, whichever is the latest. That act is due by 1 January 2028.
