The Commission has opened a call for evidence for its 2027 early warning report, the exercise that names which member states are at risk of missing the 2030 recycling targets, including the packaging material targets. Feedback is open to anyone until midnight Brussels time on October 26, 2026.
This is not a PPWR act and it creates no new duty on your packaging. It matters for a different reason. The countries the report names are the ones most likely to respond by raising producer fees or tightening collection rules, and the report is built partly from what industry puts on the record now. If you place packaging in a market you believe is behind, this is the cheapest way to say so before the conclusions are written.
